AMIGO DUENDE, The Musical

Amigo Duende is one of those passion projects, in fact even years later I still think that perhaps I am Amigo Duende. It is a work that I have inherited all the way back in fifth grade, I came across the material again in High School, I had the desire to produce it myself. I achieved this at the age of 19 and in my search for art in NYC I rebuilt it, together with a great team as a musical. Creating an original score of songs by Tony Nominated performer Joshua Henry. We assembled a creative and technical team to elevate the storytelling through and mapping projections to tell the story. Amigo Duende was a great visual exercise, lighting design, a modular set  calling not only to children, but to the whole

family. We managed to create stories in our collaboration with R. Evolución Latina by filling the Museo del Barrio theatre after so many years of not serving children, families and schools to its’ capacity. This is the type of art I want to continue to present as we help develop new audiences that admire and support musical theatre. /Luis Salgado/
